Chinese art troupe to perform March 31

A performance of Chinese music and dance featuring faculty and students from the Sichuan University Art Troupe is planned for 7:30 p.m. March 31 in the Dalton Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The performance, “All Good Wishes,” is part of a two-day campus visit by the delegation composed of six professors and 18 students, including Professor Shijing Yan, director of International Affairs, Xiangdong Yang, deputy dean of the Arts School, and Professor Guan Ping, director of the International Exchange Division. The Chinese students will attend WMU music and dance classes and rehearsals for University Chorale and Symphonic Band.

WMU’s School of Music, Department of Dance and the College of Engineering sponsored the troup’s visit. WMU’s China Study Group and the local Chinese community provided financial support. For more information, contact Dr. David Colson in the School of Music at (269) 387-4667.
