The WMU Presidential Scholarship The Diether H. Haenicke Institute for Global Education is pleased to announce the WMU Presidential Scholarship. A limited number of scholarships will be awarded for up to four years (eight semesters) or the completion of the first undergraduate degree--whichever occurs first. Application review will begin November 1, 2007 and end April 1, 2008 or when all scholarships have been awarded.
The WMU Presidential Scholarship will be awarded based on the criteria below. These scholarships require full-time enrollment (12+ credit hours per semester). Eligibility Criteria - Undergraduate students who are first-time students at WMU enrolling in the fall of 2008.
- Secondary or transfer school cumulative grade point average of 3.5 (4.0 scale).
- TOEFL score of 500 (173 cbt, 62 ibt) OR IELTS 6.0.
- You must complete a WMU application form to be considered for scholarship.
Awards & Maintenance Criteria - $8,000 per year for up to four years (eight semesters) or the point at which the student earns a first undergraduate degree, whichever occurs first.
- The award will be applied only toward tuition and fees and for the fall and spring semesters (no summer sessions).
- Scholarship recipients must maintain full-time enrollment, satisfactory academic status and earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 while at WMU. Academic histories will be reviewed at the end of each academic year.
- Recipients must also retain their nonresident status.
All applications for admission will be considered for the Presidential Scholarship, no additional application is necessary. A limited number of scholarships is available. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis from November 1, 2007 and end April 1, 2008 or until all available scholarships have been awarded. Other conditions may apply.
