Hashim came to WMU on the recommendation of his father, who earned a Master’s degree at WMU 25 years ago. His goal is to become a doctor, which he admits, is not an “easy dream.”

“Being at WMU has taught me to work hard to reach my dream,” Harim said.

On campus, he enjoys attending Bronco sporting events.  Hashim also enjoys all of the outdoor activity available to people living in Michigan and the state’s natural beauty.

He said visitors to his homeland could observe an interesting contrast between old tradition and a modern country.

“Saudi Arabia is not just a tent and camel anymore,” Hashim said. “It is great country and the people there are so nice.  We have many skyscrapers, malls, and a lot more.”
