Immigration and Policy Research Officer

General Summary:

University’s designated immigration officer for processing faculty and staff immigration actions and liaison with University departments concerning visa and immigration procedures.

Major Duties:

• Processes H1-B, J, LPR, adjustment of status, and other faculty and staff-related immigration actions; WMU designated H/J visa officer.
• Supervises personnel assigned to SEVIS and other F1 and student visa and immigration procedures; manages immigration processes and assigned staff.
• Researches and recommends University international travel polices and procedures in consultation with Vice Provost for International Programs and University General Counsel.
• Serves as liaison to and resource for WMU academic units on all immigration issues.
• Develops and recommends University faculty and student travel polices in accordance with national practice; implements procedures.
