Windy City visit with President Haenicke

International Programs Council (IPC) President Katie Smith, along with 30 Western Michigan University student leaders and President Haenicke, embarked on a weekend cultural tour of the Windy City in January.  Dr. Diane Anderson, WMU vice president of student affairs and dean of students, also made the trip.

The students serve on the President’s Student Advisory Committee, which meets monthly to convey student questions and concerns to President Haenicke. Smith said the tour included two musicals and a visit to the Chicago Institute of Art.

“The PSAC Chicago trip was an amazing experience,” Smith said. “I was excited to share with other student leaders information about IPC. Dr. Haenicke and Dr. Anderson are wonderful leaders for students and the weekend was effective at bringing together student leaders from all types of groups on campus.  PSAC gives student leaders the opportunity to bring together thoughts and ideas from various groups to help improve WMU.”
