Former President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Havel, and Holocaust novelist Arnost Lustig received Western Michigan University honorary doctorates in Prague on July 3.  The honorary degrees recognized Havel and Lustig for their literary accomplishments and their struggles against totalitarian oppression.
