Getting around WMU 

Western Michigan University is located off Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo, Michigan. You may get to WMU by plane, train, bus or car.

The closest airport to Kalamazoo is the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO). This airport is located about 25 minutes from WMU's campus. If you are flying into the Kalamzoo airport, you may either arrange for someone to pick you up or use one of the cabs at the airport. If you want to save some money, you may fly into the Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, or the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Detroit, MI. You will need someone to pick you up upon arrival if you choose one of these airports.

If you choose to get to Kalamazoo by train, there is an Amtrak station located in downtown Kalamazoo. To purchase train tickets, visit the Amtrak website and use the code KAL for Kalamazoo.

If you choose to drive to the campus, this website gives directions and shows maps to help you find your way.

Once you have arrived on campus, The Kalamazoo Metro Transit system provides bus rides between the main campus and the Parkview campus, and also to residence halls and other apartment buildings. The Crossroads mall, supermarkets, movie theatresand other places of interest are on the bus route . Riding the metro bus system is free to any WMU student who presents a valid WMU ID.
