INTERNATIONAL TRAINING GRANTS & CONTRACTS


Western Michigan University has a long record in international development assistance. For example, between 1960 and 1968 a team from WMU’s College of Engineering and Applied Sciences assisted in the creation of Ibadan Polytechnic College in Ibadan, Nigeria under contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Ibadan Polytechnic has now grown to 20,000 students and is one of Nigeria’s leading institutions of higher learning.

Today, WMU’s Office of International Affairs (OIA) is an active provider of training projects to the US Government, foundations, and private agencies.
Since 1993, the Office of International Affairs has been awarded the following contracts for training programs:
