Belize rainforest and coral reefs provide
hands-on labs for WMU student researcher

Belize has the untamed jungles and sprawling reefs that we read about in books and see in movies. It was once home to one of the most advanced civilizations of its time, the Maya. Our group on the Tropical Biology in Belize program was granted access to every site we visited by research/education permit only. No tourists are allowed to either field station (Belize City and Xunantunich are essentially the only places we went accessible to the average person).
