| Boren Scholarships and Fellowships |

Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students and Boren Fellowships provide up to $30,000 to U.S. students. The unique funding gives opportunites to students to add an important international and language component to their education. They focus on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad. These areas include Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. For more information, go to: http://borenawards.org/ WMU campus deadline - 1st Monday after New Year's Day (1/5/2009) for campus review. WMU campus committee will complete review and submit materials for the national deadline of 1/30/2009. Students may apply after the campus deadline (1/5/2009) but will not receive a campus review. WMU campus rep for Boren scholarships and fellowships - Brett Berquist, Executive Director of International Programs, brett.berquist@wmich.edu Successful applications to national scholarship competitions require significant advising support. Please schedule an appointment with Mr. Berquist in October. At least two appointments are needed for your application.
