The Chinese Language and Cultural Tour, led by Dr. Xiaojun Wang, Head of the Chinese Program in WMU’s Department of Foreign Languages, provides a four-week intensive experience for undergraduates and graduates in Beijing and the surrounding area.

The Chinese Language and Cultural Tour is designed to provide a total immersion experience for both undergraduate and graduate students in contemporary China. Participants study at the prestigious Beijing Language and Culture University and visit Beijing and the surrounding area for two weeks. Some of the cultural tours include travel to Confucius' hometown, Tai Mountain, Nanjing, Suzhou and a nine-day visit to Shanghai. This study tour will provide students insight into Chinese society, tradition and lifestyle, and offers many opportunities to explore China, strengthen language skills and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. The Chinese culture course and the study tour will be taught in English. The program is open to all majors and minors without prerequisite.
