Health care study abroad fair Oct. 26 and 27

WMU health care students and faculty
at the University of Ulster, Ireland

Opportunities to study health care methods and practices overseas will be presented at a study abroad fair hosted by Western Michigan University’s College of Health and Human Services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27 in the college’s Atrium.

Students attending the fair will be able to speak with WMU students and faculty who have participated in a study abroad program, collect program and scholarship information, and attend an information session hosted by representatives from WMU’s Study Abroad office. Free pizza will be available during the info sessions and all students attending the fair are eligible to enter a raffle to win a leather passport cover, a travel alarm or a WMU bookstore gift card.

The CHHS offers a few faculty-led study abroad programs, such as:

International Perspectives on Care of Older Persons-Ireland
Exploring Health & Health Care Systems in South Africa
International Comparative Healthcare in the Netherlands
Mexico Immersion in Healthcare

Many other options to study health care abroad are available in destinations around the world through WMU-approved study abroad program providers. Information about these programs will also be presented at the fair.

Free pizza will be available at the Study Abroad 101 drop-in sessions planned for both days in CHHS Room 1284 at the following times:

MONDAY, OCT. 26: Noon to 1 p.m.
TUESDAY, OCT. 27: 1 to 2 p.m.

These 40-minute sessions will cover the how-tos of researching and planning to study abroad, testimonies from study abroad alumni, financial aid information, and the opportunity to ask questions. Attendees are welcome to attend all or part of either session.
