Tentative timeline for WMU/ACE Internationalization laboratory

August 27, 2008 - ACE lab meeting in Washington, D.C. attended by WMU leadership team: Dean McCloud, Dr. Steve Malcolm, Bill Woods, Brett Berquist

October 5, 2008  - McCloud and Malcolm distribute ACE internationalization handbook to deans, chairs, directors

October 22-23, 2008  - ACE visits WMU campus for initial site visit

January 30, 2009 - ACE lab meeting in Washington, D.C. attended by WMU leadership team: Dean McCloud, Dr. Steve Malcolm, Bill Woods, Brett Berquist

Spring 2009 – Conduct internationalization review survey of WMU faculty, staff, completed by 3/31/2009. 

Summer 2009 –change in leadership, Maira Bundza new chair of IEC (Malcolm on sabbatical), Berquist accepts position at MSU, Mary Lagerwey joins the leadership team.  

3 meetings of IEC ACE lab taskforce in May 28, June 4, June 11

Identify and delegate information gathering from key areas

Grad students Lee Balcom and Jason Burkhardt begin analysis of survey and compilation of first drafts

HIGE sections of report assigned to unit managers – due July 15. 

Fall 2009

17 September 2009 IEC meeting – distribute draft report

Take report to college internationalization committees for feedback and dialog

Survey &/or focus groups with WMU students – similar objectives to faculty/staff survey

10 December 2009 IEC meeting – finalize report

Spring 2010

January & February 2010 - Organize campus forum for dialog on report – with faculty, staff, students, administrators

Last 2 weeks of March 2010 – ACE peer review team visit

Late Spring 2010 – ACE sends final report to WMU
