Campus reception today for visiting German American Studies scholar
A welcome reception for Dr. Karsten Fitz, chair of American Studies at the University of Passau in Germany, is planned for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 in The Oaklands. The reception is open to everyone on campus.
Fitz’s 15-day campus visit is part of a faculty and student exchange program WMU and the University of Passau established in 1988. An internationally regarded American Studies scholar, Fitz will speak on "German 'Indianthusiasm' Reconsidered: The 'Noble Savage' in the German Cultural Imagination" at 6:30 p.m. September 11 in the Bernhard Center’s Brown and Gold Room.
