Hello! I’m David Parker and I began teaching at CELCIS in January 2008. I’m originally from West Michigan and I was pleased to return to the area to teach at CELCIS.

Before arriving in Kalamazoo, I received my  bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Michigan and spent one year as a student and English instructor in France. I also lived in Vermont, where I completed my master’s degree in TESOL at Saint Michael’s College in December 2007.

At CELCIS, I enjoy teaching reading and writing and developing new ways to use technology in the ESL classroom.

Outside of class, I enjoy adding to my large music collection, running, biking, and preparing and eating international foods. I love to go exploring wherever I am; my favorite places I’ve visited include the Cote d’Azur in France, the Green Mountains in Vermont, Montreal, and New York City.

I’m always happy to meet new students at CELCIS. I hope to see you soon!
