WSA presidential candidates to address
international issues in Friday forum

WMU's International Programs Council is hosting an open forum at 4 p.m. Friday for two WSA presidential candidates, Josh Emerick and Danielle Harick, to discuss their platforms on the international community and WMU. The forum will be held in the Brown and Gold Room, Bernhard Center. This forum is open to students, faculty, staff, retirees and other members of the WMU community. International students are highly recommended to attend.

Josh Emerick, a junior majoring in political science with a concentration in American public policy, currently serves as the Political Affairs Chair on the WSA Executive Cabinet, working with local and state leaders to address the needs of the student body and promoting WMU accomplishments. One of Josh’s goals for WMU campus is to “meet with two RSO's per week to strengthen the WSA’s relationship with such organizations and to providean opportunity for student feedback.”

Danielle Harik, a junior majoring in biomedical sciences, currently is the President of PeaceJam Mentors program. She sees “international students are a huge asset to WMU” and she wants to build community, empower students. She will display her agenda in more detail on how to improve international student relations at WMU during this Friday forum.

This is the first time WSA presidential candidates are holding a forum specifically for international students to not only learn about this year's WSA election, but also to share their plans on how to improve the international community and Western's community as a whole.
