CELCIS FACULTY AFFILIATION

The expertise in working with international students and programs possessed by the faculty members of the Career English Language Center for International Students (CELCIS) will have an increasing role in the administration and activities of international education within the Haenicke Institute. Fund 11 resources will be allocated for assigned tasks as a means of stabilizing the income of the faculty. Some of the assignments will be in workload and others supplemental.

Major areas include:

International Student Counseling and Advising. Some of the activities now assigned to staff in the current Office of International Student and Scholar Services are appropriately work of the unit.

International Student and Faculty Training. Training for international GA/DAs, faculty sensitivity and interactive experiences, crosscultural training sessions for the university community, issues in multilingualism, etc., will be expanded.

Faculty Governance. A bargaining unit member of CELCIS will have assigned time for administration of the unit.
